Kedai Kopi Fun Sen 宏升

Evening Tapas-style

Foods : 5/5
Customer Services : 4/5
Ambience : 2/5
Price range : $
Overall : 4/5

Comments : This place is just a normal kopitiam where there is a satay stall right in front of the kopitiam. Impressed me much, the BBQ satays are to die for. They have lamb, beef and chicken satay, each cost $0.80, $0.60 and $0.60 respectively. Well, I strongly recommend you to go for the hot selling of lamb and beef. I didn't manage to take photo of beef flavor as I went there it all sold out. And one things that make them special is that homemade rich peanut sauce, trust me, people just love it so much! And you don't have to worry about the serving size, too small and not enough? Not a problem, because you can get refill anytime once you finish it, and most importantly it's free. Enjoy and dip the sauce with your satay of course bread and pressed rice to go with, Superb!
*Ps The satay stall only open from 4pm to 6pm so remember to come within this time. However, the kopitiam will be running from the morning.

国民茶室 Kedai Restoran Kuo Man

Foods : 5/5
Customer Services : 3/5
Ambience : 3/5
Price range : $$
Overall : 5/5

Comments : This restaurant have been operated many many years and very famous in KK. I loved to be here since I was young and of course the foods are awesome. I'd think they serve the best "yu wat" which is some sort of homemade fish ball. Also, try the stew beef tendon as well, but one thing I didn't like was too salty for me.
*Ps Breakfast finishes quite early so make sure you get down here before 10am. They will be pack of people in the morning, thus their service sometimes takes very long. But, it is worthwhile.

富源 Kedai Kopi Fook Yuen

Lunch / Tea Time

Teh Tarik bing

Custard bun (only available after 2pm)

Roti Kahwin Pangang (bread toast with kaya and butter)

Foods from other stalls outside:

Cheong fun in prawn or pork (located inside a restaurant next to Sinsuran sang Nyuk mian)

A small stall right opposite Fook Yuen

Foods : 4/5
Customer Services : 3/5
Ambience : 3/5
Price range : $
Overall : 4/5

Comments : Fook Yuen was first famous of the teh tarik, and the main signature dish is "roti kahwin". Breads are all homemade. Note that the ranking was in regards of the Damai branch. Fook yuen has 4 branches in KK, ie Karamunsing Capital, Gaya Street, Asia City Complex and Damai (origin). Other of their branches are actually pretty different from Damai, they do serve cakes, dim sums, economy lunch, breads etc. However, for me, I like being here (Damai) as they allowed customers to make order of outside foods from other stalls.
Ps "you char kueh" is a must try (which is from stall opposite Fook Yuen), if you like, you could also request for adding kaya and butter.

Price range : $$$$
Overall : 4.5/5

Comments : Nice place wonderful decor, as I used to visit Hana most of my times, Hana do really serve nice foods and good services. In addition to that, Hana often offer a special menu which I found was quite interesting (but a bit pricey i have to admit) However, after Sushi Tei has been opened at Suria Sabah, Hana's business gone down, less and less customers nowadays. But they never disappoint me, most importantly is that, their foods and services are still taste as usual. Also, they managed looking for improvement to bit their competitors, ie Hana frequently offers special discount for particular menus and existing members can get a further discount. For your information, please read my previous post about Sushi Tei.
